I think every one knows that in the US, the tax is very high and the government say that it is to ensure that the income gap between the rich and the poor does not broaden that much. Thus, the government charge high tax on almost everything.

As you know, the taxes will result in a dead weight loss of consumers' and suppliers' surplus. The higher the tax, the greater the dead weight loss is. As a result, much consumers' and suppliers' surplus is lost and many Americans are against such government policy. So many artists produce cartoons to express their resentment about such high taxes.
